Usability Testing
I was responsible for leading the design direction, strategy, and execution of the highly successful launch of Sysco's Shop application in North America. Our primary objective was to boost the adoption rate and enhance the overall customer experience.
To achieve this, we relied on extensive user research, feature requests, and analysis of feature usage data. We streamlined the new user experience by integrating various 'Jobs To Be Done' into a single application, resulting in a more streamlined and user-friendly product.
Approach ✨
Problem
Our objective was to simplify Sysco's inventory platform and enhance the experience for its customers. Through interviews with various stakeholders such as sales representatives, account owners, restaurant owners, and restaurant staff, we identified key pain points:
Managing inventory through multiple applications was cumbersome.
Users had to switch between mobile and desktop devices for inventory tasks.
To address these issues, we embarked on creating a unified application that would enable users to search, place orders, and schedule deliveries from a comprehensive product catalog. Our team thoroughly analyzed user flows and touchpoints, resulting in the design of mobile prototypes for feedback and quick buy-in.
Upon receiving support from Sysco, we focused on improving the customer experience by incorporating speech-to-text capability, machine learning, direct messaging, and order tracking. To ensure consistency across Sysco products, I facilitated ongoing collaboration between Sysco Labs and MadMobile designers, establishing a safe space for continuous refinement. This collaboration resulted in external teams leveraging our design system to build multiple products, further enhancing the overall engagement and value for customers.
Solution
Oh yes! About the Design System… 🔮
The interface maintains a minimal and clean view. We used Sysco’s main brand colors and material design icons to support an ever-growing and easy-to-use product framework.
